Position Overview
Holiday Inn Express Ames is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Room Attendants to join our housekeeping team. This role is essential to delivering a clean, comfortable, and welcoming experience for every guest. Room Attendants are responsible for maintaining guest rooms and public areas to brand standards while working efficiently in a fast-paced hotel environment. This is a paid position with training provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and service guest rooms daily, including making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing amenities in accordance with Holiday Inn Express standards
- Ensure all assigned rooms meet cleanliness, safety, and quality expectations before release
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas such as hallways, elevators, laundry areas, and housekeeping storage spaces as assigned
- Restock linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations
- Identify and report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damaged items promptly to supervisors
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Work collaboratively with housekeeping supervisors and team members to meet daily room quotas and service timelines
- Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with guests and colleagues
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or hotel experience preferred but not required (training provided)
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality standards
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift (up to 25–30 lbs.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily productivity expectations
- Dependable attendance and a positive, service-oriented attitude
- Knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures is a plus but not mandatory
