Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Party Host to create memorable experiences for guests at our entertainment venue, Holiday Bowl in Oakland NJ!. The ideal candidate will excel in managing kids birthday parties, engaging with kids and parents, and ensuring a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a lively setting that combines elements of hospitality, entertainment, and customer service. As a Party Host, you will be the face of our venue, responsible for coordinating activities, managing guest interactions, and ensuring smooth event execution for a kids birthday party at our facility.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests (kids and adults) warmly and facilitate their check-in process to ensure a positive first impression.
- Help coordinate/obtain bowling shoes for participants and organize attendees
- Coordinate and oversee the party activities, games, food and entertainment to maintain high energy levels and guest engagement.
- Manage event logistics including setup, breakdown, and ensuring all supplies are available and organized.
- Handle basic guest inquiries relative to the event, resolve conflicts promptly, and address any concerns to the Event Manager that may require escalation
- Assist with food and beverage service as needed for the event, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards - taking final party guest counts, pouring non-alcoholic beverages, food selection/ice cream flavor choices for kids, coordinate group happy birthday activities and cutting/serving birthday cake...etc. Set up and clean up of party - table settings, sweeping/mopping and resetting area or party room.
- Enforce venue policies related to safety protocols, ensuring kids are kept safe, but still having fun!
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless event flow and exceptional guest experiences for all ages.
- Use public speaking skills to entertain or provide instructions and interactions during event activities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in working with kids (camp counselors, teachers, instructors) and/or hospitality is preferred
- Must be able to communicate and work with children of all ages and their adults!
- Experience working with children or in a recreational setting is advantageous.
- Excellent guest services skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Public speaking skills for engaging with groups of guests confidently.
- Background in theater or entertainment can enhance performance aspects of the role.
- Experience in resort or hospitality environments is desirable. This position offers an engaging work environment where creativity, enthusiasm, and excellent interpersonal skills are valued. Work Availability:
- Events are generally held on weekends (Friday evenings, Saturdays/Sundays)
- Work is flexible and hours are based on bookings - great for students and part time workers that want/need flexiblity!
- Parties run about 3-4 hours including setup/cleanup per shift.
- Base Hourly Server Wage plus Earned Tips Provided (Generally starting at $20 per hour)
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 15 per week
