The Alarm Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a variety of fire and security alarm systems, access control, and video-surveillance, including residential, commercial, and industrial. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role involves local travel to client sites and requires adherence to safety protocols and technical standards. The technician works primarily during standard business hours, with occasional overtime as needed, ensuring security systems function optimally and provide reliable protection for clients.
Responsibilities
- Install alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
- Maintain and test equipment to ensure system functionality
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly
- Provide technical support and clear communication to customers
- Perform wiring and cabling according to safety and technical standards
- Execute system upgrades to enhance security capabilities
- Document all service and maintenance activities accurately
- Travel locally to various job sites as required
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 years of experience in security alarm systems
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Security Technician License
- Proficiency in alarm system installation and electrical wiring
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Effective customer communication and technical documentation skills
- Excellent time management abilities
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to alarm installation and maintenance
