Located in the same building, Wallflower is our intimate rooftop cocktail bar offering a sophisticated speakeasy atmosphere, elevated cocktails, private events, and unforgettable guest experiences.

We are currently seeking an experienced Bar Manager to oversee bar operations across both Hole in the Wall and Wallflower. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned bartender, lead bartender, or hospitality professional looking to take the next step into restaurant management.

Position Overview

The Bar Manager serves as a key operational leader and trusted partner to the General Manager. This role combines hands-on service with leadership responsibilities, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining smooth day-to-day operations across both venues.

The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in fast-paced environments, leads by example, and is equally comfortable crafting cocktails, assisting guests, coaching staff, managing inventory, and solving operational challenges.

This position will spend time both on the floor and behind the bar, supporting service whenever needed while helping drive operational excellence and team development.

Responsibilities Leadership & Operations
  • Serve as a leader and role model for all front-of-house team members
  • Assist the General Manager with daily restaurant and bar operations
  • Help oversee service standards, cleanliness, organization, and execution across both venues
  • Act as a manager-on-duty when assigned, helping resolve guest concerns and operational challenges
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of front-of-house team members
  • Foster a positive, professional, team-oriented culture
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding staffing needs, maintenance concerns, guest feedback, and operational opportunities
  • Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and strong work ethic
Guest Experience
  • Deliver exceptional hospitality and ensure every guest receives a memorable experience
  • Assist staff with guest recovery situations and service-related concerns
  • Address guest complaints with confidence, empathy, and professionalism
  • Build relationships with regular guests and create a welcoming atmosphere
  • Maintain service standards that reflect our brand and hospitality philosophy
Bar Operations
  • Work behind the bar during service as needed
  • Maintain cocktail quality, consistency, and presentation standards
  • Ensure proper batching, syrup production, garnishes, and mise en place are completed before each shift
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs proactively
  • Assist with weekly inventory counts and variance management
  • Assist with ordering liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and bar supplies
  • Help minimize waste and maintain strong cost controls
  • Train bartenders and support staff on recipes, techniques, service standards, and product knowledge
  • Partner with management and beverage leadership on menu updates, seasonal offerings, and beverage initiatives
Service Support
  • Step into service positions as needed, including bartender, server, host, food runner, or support staff
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure side work, cleaning tasks, and shift responsibilities are completed properly
  • Support high-volume shifts and help maintain efficiency during peak business periods
Events & Business Development
  • Assist in executing private events, buyouts, and special activations
  • Support promotional initiatives, marketing campaigns, and seasonal programming
  • Help drive beverage sales and revenue opportunities
  • Contribute ideas that enhance guest engagement and overall business performance
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in high-volume hospitality environments
  • Minimum 2 year of leadership experience preferred (Lead Bartender, Shift Leader, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and bar operations
  • Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable managing guest concerns and making decisions independently
  • Ability to work across multiple front-of-house positions
  • Passion for hospitality and genuine enjoyment of serving others
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-oriented
  • Desire to grow into larger leadership opportunities within a growing hospitality group
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Compensation

  • $30–$35 per hour
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity of up to $10,000 annually based on achieving sales and operational goals
