Position Summary
Holder Logistics Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Partner to join our team. This is an office-based position responsible for supporting and strengthening the company’s overall safety program, ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
We are looking for a true safety professional who understands that safety is much more than driving safely. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a dedicated safety role and will be comfortable identifying risks, investigating incidents, reviewing driver behavior, coaching employees, maintaining regulatory compliance, and working with employees and management to improve our overall safety culture.
Previous experience working in a safety position is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate triggered in-cab camera videos and other safety events
- Identify unsafe driving behaviors, trends, and repeat violations
- Conduct driver coaching and follow-up related to safety events
- Monitor company safety scores and develop strategies to improve overall performance
- Work directly with drivers and management to address safety concerns
- Conduct safety investigations, including vehicle accidents, incidents, near misses, and employee injuries
- Assist with accident and incident reporting, documentation, and follow-up
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
- Assist with DOT compliance, including driver qualification files, drug and alcohol testing requirements, medical qualifications, and other applicable requirements
- Assist with compliance related to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies
- Help coordinate and prepare for regulatory inspections and audits
- Monitor changes in applicable safety and environmental regulations and communicate requirements to management and employees
- Conduct safety meetings, training, and employee education
- Perform workplace and equipment safety inspections
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Assist with the development, implementation, and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures
- Track safety trends and provide recommendations for reducing accidents, injuries, violations, and unsafe behaviors
- Work with operations to ensure safety requirements are incorporated into daily activities
- Assist with employee return-to-work and safety-related documentation when applicable
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company safety information
- Perform other safety-related duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will be a hands-on safety professional who is comfortable holding employees accountable while also building positive working relationships.
Required:
- Previous professional experience working in a safety position
- Strong understanding of workplace safety principles and regulatory compliance
- Experience investigating incidents and identifying root causes
- Experience coaching employees regarding safety performance and behavior
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to confidently communicate safety expectations to employees at all levels
- Ability to work independently and make sound safety-related decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office
- Ability and willingness to work primarily in an office setting
Preferred:
- Experience in the transportation, trucking, petroleum, logistics, or industrial industry
- Experience with DOT compliance
- Experience working with OSHA and EPA requirements
- Experience with driver monitoring/camera systems such as Samsara
- Experience conducting safety audits and inspections
- Safety-related certifications such as OSHA, CHST, CSP, or similar
- CDL or commercial transportation experience

We are looking for someone who thinks like a safety professional.
This position is not a driving position and is not intended for someone whose primary qualification is being a safe driver. The Safety Partner will spend the majority of their time working in an office environment, reviewing safety information, managing compliance responsibilities, investigating incidents, coaching employees, analyzing trends, and working with management and drivers to improve safety performance.
The Safety Partner must be able to recognize hazards, understand regulations, investigate why incidents occur, identify corrective actions, document findings, and follow through to ensure corrective actions are completed..
