Position Summary
The Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Driver is responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of bulk and packaged DEF to commercial fleets, fuel stations, and industrial customers. This position requires the safe operation of commercial vehicles, proper handling of DEF transfer equipment, and strict compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely transport and deliver bulk and packaged DEF to customer locations.
- Operate pumps, meters, hoses, valves, and other transfer equipment while preventing product contamination.
- Load and unload DEF using proper safety procedures and equipment.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns.
- Maintain accurate electronic driver logs and comply with all DOT Hours of Service regulations.
- Verify delivery quantities, complete bills of lading, delivery tickets, and other required documentation.
- Provide courteous, professional customer service during deliveries.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of company vehicles and equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and spill prevention procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and management regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Current Tanker (N) and Hazardous Materials (H) endorsements (or combination X endorsement).
- Minimum of one (1) year of verifiable commercial driving experience, preferably hauling liquid bulk or tanker products.
- Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT physical and drug testing requirements.
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules efficiently.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle hoses, fittings, and other delivery equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders and access tanker equipment safely.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
Pay: $28.00 - $29.00 per hour
