Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on dish preparation and ingredient needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food prep stations, cooking equipment, and storage areas.
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, sanitation guidelines, and safety protocols.
- Support food service operations by plating dishes efficiently and accurately for timely delivery to customers or dining areas.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service times.
- Participate in catering events or special meal preparations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department, restaurant, or food industry setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards.
- Proven knife skills and ability to handle various kitchen tools safely and efficiently.
- Experience with meal preparation, menu planning, and food handling procedures.
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus.
