HOLCOMB SCHOOL BUS DRIVER INFORMATION
Requirements needed to qualify as a school bus driver:

• Valid NJ driver license. 
• NJ license must be in good standing for the last 3 years.
• At least 21 years old or older.
• Must be able to pass a background check from 18 yrs. old until now.
• Must be able to pass a DOT drug test (Marijuana is legal in NJ, but not legal for a CDL).

The school bus driver position:

• Starting pay is $28.00/hr. and guaranteed 20 hours a week as long as the school is open.
• Required to work Monday-Friday.
• Required to work 2 hours in the morning. The 2 hours will be scheduled between the hours of 6 AM-9:30 AM.
• Required to work 2 hours in the afternoon. The 2 hours will be scheduled between the hours of 1:30 PM-5 PM.

Holcomb Behind the Wheel Training:

• Allotted up to 40 hours of training in the big bus at $15.49/hr. (minimum wage)
• Training is held Monday-Thursday 9:30 AM to 12 noon for 4 weeks.
• We will schedule your NJMVC road test, and a trainer will accompany you to the road test.
• After passing the road test and working 90 days as a school bus driver, you will receive a $750 sign on bonus.

To qualify for Behind-The-Wheel Training:

• Must fill out an application and sign a contract that you will work 12 months after receiving your CDL. If you leave before your contracted time has expired, you will be charged $3000.
• Must pass 3 computerized tests at NJMVC (1st test is the General Knowledge, and is the most challenging test to pass, once you past that test, the other 2 endorsement tests are easier to pass.)
• We offer a free 2 Day CDL Prep Class to prepare you for the General Knowledge Test.

1. You will receive the necessary paperwork to obtain your permit.
2. We will schedule your appointments at NJMVC.
3. We will issue you a check for $125 to purchase your CDL permit.
