What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engagement Leader (Memory Care Activities) position at Holbrook Life Management- Woods?
ENGAGEMENT LEADER – INSPIRED LIVING
Holbrook Life Management
Where Luxury Hospitality Meets Purposeful Memory Care
At Holbrook, we believe that Alzheimer’s and dementia care should be beautiful, dignified, and deeply human. Our Inspired Living neighborhood is built on a luxury standard — where every moment is an opportunity for connection, comfort, and meaningful engagement.
We are seeking an Engagement Leader who brings creativity, empathy, and professionalism to a role that blends hospitality, wellbeing, and thoughtful cognitive support.
This is not activities-as-usual.
This is experience design for the memory, spirit, and soul.
THE ROLE
As the Engagement Leader, you will curate, lead, and elevate daily experiences for residents living with Alzheimer’s and dementia — crafting moments that spark joy, reduce anxiety, build connection, and nourish the whole person.
Your leadership will set the rhythm of the neighborhood, shaping how residents feel, participate, and thrive each day.
You will:
- Develop and direct a purposeful engagement calendar that supports mind, body, and spirit while honoring each resident’s abilities and interests.
- Lead recreational, social, wellness, and therapeutic experiences that reduce stress and increase meaning — from creative arts to sensory moments to cognitive engagement.
- Introduce stimulating activities appropriate for all stages of dementia, ensuring every resident is included with dignity.
- Encourage hobbies, creativity, music, movement, and intergenerational connection.
- Host group experiences and one-on-one visits that foster belonging, communication, and emotional safety.
- Coordinate special programs, cultural events, seasonal celebrations, and outings that enhance quality of life.
- Partner with our Memory Care Director to prepare the monthly newsletter and ensure families feel informed and connected.
- Support residents’ spiritual wellbeing through chaplaincy visits, devotionals, and access to meaningful spiritual practices.
- Document participation, observe resident responses, and report notable changes to support safety and personalized care.
- Build and manage a plan for weekend and weekday activity support.
- Serve as a hospitality ambassador — modeling patience, joy, professionalism, and the signature Holbrook experience.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Compassionate experience supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or cognitive impairment.
- A proven ability to design and deliver engaging programs for diverse cognitive levels.
- Strong organizational skills, energy, creativity, and the ability to lead with both structure and heart.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to complete).
- Understanding of infection control and safety practices.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain documentation with accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills — with residents, families, and fellow associates.
- A hospitality mindset: warm, proactive, patient, and committed to excellence.
- A positive presence that brings calm, confidence, and delight to the neighborhood.
- Ability to pass required screenings (drug, TB, physical, background).
Minimum Requirements:
- 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- English proficiency
- Valid background clearance
