Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hoyer Lift Nurse-Aid to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Hoyer lifts and other mobility equipment to transfer patients or residents with care and precision.
- Assist with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding to promote independence and well-being.
- Monitor patient condition by observing vital signs, assessing comfort levels, and reporting changes promptly.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support medication administration under supervision, including understanding medical terminology related to patient care.
- Assist with catheter care, wound care, hospice support, and dementia or memory care activities as needed.
- Perform light cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and other household tasks to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Follow all safety protocols during patient transfers using Hoyer lifts and adhere to infection control standards.
- Document medical records thoroughly and assist with medical documentation processes for ongoing patient care.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or memory care needs is advantageous.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation practices is essential.
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications such as hospice care training or catheter care are a plus.
- Long-term care experience combined with home & community care background will strengthen your application.
- Proven ability to handle patient observation responsibly while maintaining HIPAA compliance and respecting patient privacy.
