Position Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Safety Coordinator to join our team. This role is critical in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs to ensure compliance with workplace regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workplace safety, compliance regulations, and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with OSHA, EHS, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and risks, ensuring all workplace safety standards are met.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventative actions.
- Provide safety training for employees, including topics such as EHS, First Aid, CPR, OSHA regulations, and Workers' Compensation laws.
- Work closely with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture and encourage proactive hazard reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, compliance, and risk assessments for management review.
- Serve as the point of contact for external safety audits and regulatory inspections.
Required Qualifications:
- Safety Coordinator Certification or equivalent safety license (required).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in workplace safety, environmental health, or risk management (EHS experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Workers' Compensation regulations.
- Proficiency in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and root cause analysis.
- Experience in developing and delivering effective safety training programs.
- Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with teams to ensure compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR & First Aid certification
- OSHA 501 Safety certification
- Experience working in construction safety or a related industry
- Familiarity with incident investigation procedures
- Strong communication and leadership skills
