What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Custodian position at Hohensteins Inc.?
Job Title: Custodian
Hours would be from 7am - 10am Monday - Friday.
Duties:
- Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day.
- Perform industrial cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Empty trash containers, remove waste/recycling to appropriate locations.
- Dust surfaces (desks, blinds, bookcases, etc.) as scheduled.
- Keep restrooms, common areas, storage areas, carts, and other assigned areas well-stocked, clean and tidy.
- Always follow safety precautions.
- Clean & sanitize light fixtures, light switches, vents, and doorknob handles.
- Service, clean & supply restrooms by sanitizing toilets, sinks and mirrors, restocking disposables (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.).
- Service, clean & supply kitchen by wiping down appliances, countertops, drawers/shelves, restocking supplies as needed (cups, utensils, napkins, etc.).
- Annually clean walls, lights, ceilings, and shampoo carpets.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs (replacing light bulbs, door handles, minor leaks, etc.).
- Report major damages.
- Maintain outer premises by watering plants, sweeping areas directly outside the entrances, etc.
- Responsible for the care, maintenances, and inventory of all necessary cleaning supplies/products, and equipment used at the property.
Experience:
- Previous experience in custodial work preferred.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Good time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and bending
