Role Description
Hogan Mfg. is seeking a motivated and skilled Electronic Engineer to lead the advancement of our electronic product designs, systems, and components. In this dynamic role, you will play a central part in developing electronic control and drive systems—from concept and design through to final production.
You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and manufacturing engineers, to deliver cohesive and innovative electromechanical solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic circuit design, schematic and PCB layout, and proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.

What You’ll Do
- Design electronic circuits and systems to enable intelligent, safe control of our manufactured products.
- Utilize tools such as ALTIUM for schematic/PCB design, SolidWorks (Mechanical and Electrical), AutoCAD for legacy documents, SPICE simulation, MPLABX for microcontroller solutions, and other software tools to develop and integrate electronic systems into our products.
- Model, demonstrate, and test prototypes to validate design functionality and performance.
- Evaluate electronic components for suitability, availability, and cost-effectiveness, and recommend alternatives as needed to ensure manufacturability.
- Establish and document testing and maintenance procedures for electronic systems and components.
- Design and build test equipment to verify the functionality and compliance of electronic products and components.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in electronic design.
- Proficiency with ALTIUM Designer and SolidWorks is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment, including digital storage oscilloscopes (DSO) and digital multimeters (DMM).
- Strong understanding of communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, I2C, and related interfaces.
- Proficiency in motor drive systems is a core requirement.
- Experience designing electrical hardware and software, with a strong focus on operator safety and product reliability.
- Thorough knowledge of production equipment design considerations, including usability, serviceability, environmental protection, and durability.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and effectively meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
