Electrical Pre-Apprentice

As the Electrical Pre-Apprentice, you will play a critical role in supporting experienced electricians by assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. This role is ideal for individuals starting their electrical career who want hands-on experience, training, and the opportunity to progress toward becoming an Electrical journeyman.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist electricians with installing electrical wiring, fixtures, devices, and equipment in residential settings. Electrical Pre-Apprentice will occasionally offer support to the Appliance team and will need to be able to lift appliances.
• Measure, cut, bend, and pull wire and conduit using hand tools and power tools.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain tools, materials, and jobsite work areas.
• Help troubleshoot electrical issues under supervision.
• Load and unload materials; transport equipment to and from job sites for both our Electrical and Appliance departments.
• Follow all safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures.
• Maintain clean, accurate documentation such as material lists or daily reports.
• Support project timelines by completing assigned tasks efficiently and correctly.
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from ladders, lifts, or confined spaces.
• Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to take direction.
  
  

Preferred

• Enrollment in or desire to join an electrical training program.
• Previous electrical or construction experience.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and electrical terminology.

Requirements

• To adequately perform the duties of this job the employee is regularly and routinely required to sit, stand, squat, kneel, walk, stoop, use hands to finger, handle controls, hear, and talk. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50lbs and up because the equipment being used can be heavy and cumbersome. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• The work environment can vary depending on the season and scope of work - employees are required to work outdoors throughout the seasons. The work environment will subject employees to continual interruptions and changing priorities. Effective, consistent, and constant communication with customers, vendors, co-workers, and others is required.
