Job Title:  Warehouse Counter Sales and Material Handler
Department:  Logistics / Warehousing
Reports to:  Warehouse Manager / Supervisor

Job Summary  - As a Warehouse Counter Sales and Material Handler, you will work in a team environment to increase sales and customer satisfaction by efficiently and courteously assisting customers and sales representatives with the selection and acquisition of needed HVAC products. Pull product from warehouse and assist customers in loading vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service customers at the counter and on the phone by taking orders and entering them into the system accurately.
• Accurately use computer system and other technologies to complete the following tasks:
  1. Order entry
  2. Billing and Invoicing if assigned by manager,
  3. Maintain Cost/Pricing Data Files to Provide Market Feedback,
  4. Inventory Control,
  5. Run credit cards through INFOR,
  6. Coordinate with Accounting to Set up new customers,
  7. Alert Purchasing Administrator if stock items reach low quantities.
• Use electronic published catalogs/E-commerce platform to provide product, pricing, and availability information to customers and our sales team.
• Provide customer formal quotes for warehouse products as requested.
• Assist sales assistants with warehouse product quotes, availability, pricing & order write-up  
• Assist with small estimates that can be filled potentially from warehouse.
• Work with manager/sales to develop weekly customer call list.
• Follow company pricing and credit guidelines and policies.
• Solve or find someone to quickly solve customers’ problems.
• Increase sales by promoting new products and monthly specials.
• Promote and sell overages, damaged and discontinued items.
• Handle customer complaints and returns in a professional and positive manner.
• Keep showroom and counter areas clean and attractive.
• Maintain filing system.
• Assist in physical inventory counts.
• Attend product training meetings.
• Develop technical expertise and knowledge of company products.
• Must be a team player with “can do” attitude.
• Pull product from warehouse using pick tickets and help assist loading into customers vehicles.
• Keep warehouse stock organized and clean.
• Receive products accurately, and put away in a timely fashion.
• Consistently look at ways to improve the showroom layout.
• Look at added items to display in the showroom. Point of Sell Displays.
• Work with management on brainstorming ideas to grow sales.
• Maintain forklift certification.
• Maintain a safe working area and follow all company safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong sense of initiative and a proactive approach to sales.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in warehouse operations and material handling preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
• Requires lifting, carrying, and moving heavy items.
• May involve standing, walking, and driving for extended periods.
