Optician – Private Practice | No Weekends | Experience Required
Hoffman Eyecare is a growing, private optometry practice in Westfield, IN known for personalized care, transparency, and a supportive, family-oriented team culture. We’re looking for an experienced optician who can jump in confidently and help us continue providing exceptional care to our community.
About the Role
This can be a full-time or part-time position (no weekends). You’ll be a key member of our small but growing team, providing eyewear expertise, patient education, and seamless support throughout the patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Confidently navigate VSP and EyeMed benefits, authorizations, and claims
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that match their prescription, style, and budget
- Take accurate measurements, adjust frames, and dispense eyewear with confidence
- Educate patients on lens technology, coatings, and multiple-pair options
- Process, order, and track lab jobs with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain a clean, inviting, and organized optical area
- Answer phones, schedule patients, and provide warm, confident customer service
- Work closely with the doctor and teammates to maintain great office flow and an exceptional patient experience
Qualifications
- 3 years of optician or optical sales experience required
- Strong technical knowledge of eyewear, lenses, and adjustments
- Experience with VSP/EyeMed
- Warm, professional communication and patient-care mindset
- Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Comfortable with technology and learning new systems
- A team player who values collaboration, positivity, and helping others succeed
