Lead Operator - Foreman

Hoffman Excavating & Paving, LLC is a New Jersey based, successful company that provides high quality excavating services to our residential and commercial customers in Hunterdon County and surrounding areas. Currently we are looking to hire a full time Heavy Equipment Lead Operator - Foreman. We are seeking a reliable & responsible individual who is willing to take necessary steps to achieve given goals on each work site. We are offering a year round position from Monday - Friday work schedule with available overtime hours. We provide very competitive pay rate with yearly bonuses. Compensation is strictly based on the knowledge & experience of residential / commercial construction site work.

Essential Requirements:

• MINIMUM 4 years experience in operating heavy equipment
• CDL a plus
• 40 HR OSHA HAZWOPER Certificate or willing to obtain it
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials & equipment
• Read and follow project blueprints and plans to understand the requirements of each task
• Proficiently operate several types of heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, dozers, skid steers, loaders, compactors, etc.
• Must be able to safely operate equipment around other workers, utilities, equipment, and other obstacles
• Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in details & procedures related to excavating, installation of septic systems, sewer lines, drainage, etc.
• Must have ability to conduct manual labor activities (the ability to hop off the machine and work within the crew performing other tasks)
• Fluent in English both verbal & written communication
• Follow safety procedures & policies
• Pre - employment drug testing required

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators and loaders on the construction site
• Transport equipment to and from job site
• Load & unload equipment / materials from vehicles and trailers
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate given tasks
