Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (40 hours)
About the Position
We are looking for a dependable person to join our small team producing wooden handles for world-class axes.
This is not an assembly-line manufacturing job. Our products are made by a small team of craftspeople who care deeply about quality and traditional craftsmanship. This is an entry-level position, and training will be provided.
Job Duties
- Operate a copy lathe to produce axe handles
- Grade lumber for grain, strength, and defects
- Cut handle blanks using a bandsaw
- Sand and inspect finished handles
- Move, stack, and organize lumber
- Operate a forklift to transport materials
- Safely use and maintain woodworking equipment
- Keep the workshop clean and organized
Qualifications
- No previous experience is required
- Woodworking, lumber, machinery, or forklift experience is helpful
- Dependable and willing to learn
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable performing physical and repetitive work
- Able to stand throughout the day and safely lift and move lumber
- Able to work well as part of a small team
Work Environment
This is an active woodworking position involving wood dust, noise, sharp tools, machinery, and heavy materials. Employees must follow all safety procedures and use the required protective equipment.
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
