My client is looking for an IT Administrator:
POSITION SUMMARY: An employee in this job provides comprehensive information technology administration and support. Responsibilities encompass networking, IT support, and administration services, including procurement, security, training, project management, quality assurance, asset management, technical writing/documentation, and database support. The position serves as the primary point of contact for all IT needs, handling network support, server support, and network managed services. Duties involve diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, configuring and managing network components, and ensuring network security. This individual ensures technology systems meet required Local, State and Federal standards. The role operates with considerable independence.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
- Act as administrator for company computer network.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues using monitoring and management tools; perform minor repairs, respond to alerts, escalate issues as needed, and implement network optimization procedures.
- Provide centralized desktop, network, user, and audio/visual support, including account and permission management, shared resources, printers, and technical guidance, in accordance with organization-wide standards.
- Install, configure, maintain, and support network infrastructure, including switches, routers, cabling, peripherals, operating systems, and network software; participate in designing and implementing network and telecommunications (voice, data, video) configurations.
- Assist with network, system, and facility security by monitoring logs, addressing access control issues, supporting audits and assessments, and maintaining antivirus, intrusion detection, and security services.
- Monitor system reliability and continuity through backup and recovery systems, disaster recovery planning recommendations, quality assurance procedures, and ongoing system controls.
- Plan, design, script, test, document, and deploy network tools, utilities, and updates while maintaining technical documentation, user guides, training materials, and documentation portals.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend hardware, software, and transit technologies; support procurement activities, contract specifications, and asset management.
- Manage relationships with 3 rd party IT vendors.
- Deliver technical training to users and staff, stay current with emerging technologies through continuous learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field; a minimum of ten (4) years progressive experience.
- Strong working knowledge of office automation products, databases, and remote control as well as computer systems, mobile devices, and other technology products.
- Prior experience in a public transportation setting preferred.
COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, IT governance, enterprise software systems, data management, and digital infrastructure planning.
- Knowledge of information technology concepts, hardware and software systems (desktop, server, network, peripherals), network communications standards and protocols, physical cabling, database fundamentals, and system performance monitoring techniques.
- Ability to analyze complex IT challenges as they relate to business processes and to identify functional requirements, logical relationships, and root causes of system and network issues.
- Knowledge of installing, configuring, testing, and supporting desktop and network hardware and software, including troubleshooting techniques, diagnostic utilities, and hardware/software testing methods in a networked environment.
- Ability to effectively manage time, work independently and be self-directed.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally, and the ability to work effectively with fellow employees, vendors and the public.
- Knowledge of purchasing and inventory control operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Individuals must be able to meet established specific physical requirements of the job including sitting at a desk for extended periods of time, reaching, lifting, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, standing, and walking. Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds occurs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment. Frequent contact with employees, government agencies, various auditors, and regulatory authorities. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required. Local, State, or National travel may be required. Must be able to work in a stressful and results/deadline driven environment.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
