Hoerr Construction, Inc. was founded in 1994 and focuses on the underground construction field. As a union contractor, the key services we offer include directional drilling, sewer inspection and cleaning, CIPP pipe lining, manhole rehabilitation, and water/sanitary sewer construction.
The manhole rehab laborer will perform a wide variety of tasks related to manhole rehabilitation services as directed by the crew foreman.
Key Job Duties for this position include:
- Rehab manholes using cementitious or epoxy coatings by spray or trowel.
- Seal & stop infiltration around cracks, seams, and pipe connections.
- Build new benches, inverts, or channels.
- Spray application of various products while maintaining a consistent mil thickness.
- Working in confined spaces including regular entry/exit into manholes and other underground structures.
- Install various frame seal products.
- High pressure water profiling, pressure washing, hydro blasting and grouting.
- Replace or adjust manhole rings, frames, and covers.
- Safely operate company vehicles.
- Perform other general duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsement. Must have reliable transportation method to/from the worksite.
- 1-2 years’ experience working in outdoor construction preferred.
- Willing to travel within our territory (Illinois). This position requires some travel and occasional overtime.
- Willing to show a commitment to company safety practices.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and have an acceptable MVR.
- Able to successfully pass a respirator fit test including the completion of a respirator medical questionnaire.
- Able to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 50 – 100 pounds without assistance.
- Both physically able and willing to work in various positions including kneeling, standing, crouching, stooping, climbing, bending and able to use hands/fingers to handle equipment.
- Able to effectively use basic tools such as shovel, ladder, and other misc. hand tools.
- Able to be productive and work independently with minimal supervision

Pay: $31.80 - $53.00 per hour
