This is a full-time, on-site role for a Conventional Machinist based in Port Allen, LA. The Conventional Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating conventional machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate precision parts as per customer specifications. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting appropriate materials, measuring and inspecting finished parts, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety standards while ensuring quality is met on all projects.
- Proficiency in operating and setting up conventional machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders
- Strong technical skills in blueprint reading, material selection, and machining techniques
- Attention to detail and expertise in measuring and inspecting fabricated parts for quality assurance
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and a commitment to workplace safety practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Prior experience in machining or manufacturing environments is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in machining is highly desirable
