Position Overview
A project engineer assists the project manager in overseeing the entire building process from bidding through building turnover. Their duties include creating new projects in Procore, building project-specific bidder lists, reviewing and distributing bidding documents, following up with potential bidders, assisting with budgeting and final estimate preparation, and working with the PM to meet clients’ expectations.
Essential Functions
- Build, develop, maintain, and exceed customer expectations and relationships
- Build subcontractor relationships and expand subcontractor pool
- Meet with PM(s) daily to review workload, tasks, to do lists, schedules, etc.
- Meet with PM to review and assist with submittals, RFI’s, meeting minutes, reports etc.
- Organize and attend bid walk-throughs as needed
- Input all documentation required into Procore per PM’s direction
- Create and manage bidder lists and add new bidders in Procore
- Organize Procore directory and keep current
- Manage, download, print, and coordinate all plans, specs, addenda, bulletins, etc.
- Review and understand plans to ensure bidding coverage for all scopes of work
- Create and manage submittal logs with PM assistance
- Assist PM with requesting change order documentation and creating change orders
- Assist with subcontractor scopes of work, communications, and contracts
- Assist with procurement of equipment, materials, tools, subs etc.
- Assist with obtaining permits, insurance, and bonding as necessary
