Job Summary:
The Healthcare Principal is responsible for establishing, leading, and expanding the firm’s healthcare design practice in Central Florida, with a focus on the Orlando and Tampa/St. Petersburg/Sarasota markets, while providing strategic expertise and support to the Jacksonville office.
This individual will serve as a practice builder and subject matter expert in healthcare architecture—capable of programming, planning, and designing all healthcare facility types including acute care, ambulatory, specialty, and behavioral health environments. The Healthcare Principal will leverage deep market knowledge, technical acumen, and client relationships to position the firm as a trusted healthcare design leader throughout the region.
Essential Functions:
Practice Growth and Market Development
Establish and grow a healthcare design practice across Central Florida, with the long-term goal of expanding throughout the Southeastern U.S. Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and strengthen the firm’s presence in healthcare design. Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities by cultivating relationships with healthcare systems, developers, and institutional clients. Partner with firm leadership to develop short- and long-term business plans for the healthcare market.
Project and Design Leadership
Provide expertise in programming, medical planning, and the layout of all healthcare facility types. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering leadership in early project visioning, space planning, and functional workflow optimization. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design excellence, quality, and innovation in all deliverables. Support the Jacksonville office and other firm locations as a resource of healthcare design and planning expertise.
Team Development and Recruitment
Recruit, mentor, and develop a growing healthcare-focused team in Florida. Build a culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Partner with HR and leadership to identify and onboard key hires to expand the firm’s healthcare design capabilities regionally.
Client and Business Development
Establish and maintain strong client relationships built on trust, service, and delivery excellence. Lead presentations, interviews, and proposals to position the firm as a premier healthcare design partner. Actively engage in professional organizations, conferences, and networking events to elevate the firm’s visibility and thought leadership in healthcare architecture.

Business Performance
Meeting or exceeding annual targets for gross revenue sales, net revenue generation, and profitability within the healthcare practice. Building a sustainable pipeline of work that supports ongoing growth and stability in the region.
