We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Designer I. Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in the design of the mechanical systems for healthcare, higher education and commercial building type projects. Involvement within project teams from schematic design through construction on projects, reviewing shop drawings and related submittals, coordinating with other disciplines in all phases, and directing the production of the projects. Other responsibilities include keeping up with trends in engineering and attending professional development events. Ideal candidates will have attention to detail and a strong desire for organization. Opportunities to grow, updated engineering standards and advance to project management.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Technical design and quality control on assigned projects including all mechanical system calculations and layouts
- Maintain best practice engineering methods and current code requirements
- Production of construction documents for new buildings, renovations, and additions to existing facilities
- Research and apply project related data as requested by project manager
- Assist with project specifications
- Update and correct drawings provided by quality assurance
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program. 1-3 years of experience in the engineering field preferred. Related experience in the design of healthcare, higher education and commercial building mechanical systems a plus. Knowledge of current mechanical and energy codes.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam preparation preferred, but not required. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license and willingness to use insured person vehicle in the course of employment.
Qualifications:
Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Trane Trace & Revit. Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without the need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail oriented and able to perform each essential duty effectively.
