About the role
Seattle Dumpling House is hiring an experienced dumpling wrapper to support our growing catering and production volume. This is contract, piece-rate work — you're paid per completed batch, not an hourly wage, and you'll work from a standing production schedule rather than fixed shifts. Work is done at our kitchen in Wallingford.
What you'll do
- Hand-wrap dumplings to spec (fold style, fill weight, seal quality) from prepped filling
- Meet agreed production volumes for scheduled batches
- Follow food safety and consistency standards
What we're looking for
- Prior experience wrapping dumplings or dim sum at volume (home or professional)
- Speed and consistency in hand-folding technique
- Reliable, able to hit agreed deadlines
- Food handler's card (or willing to obtain one)
Job details
- Independent contractor engagement (1099); you'll provide a completed W-9
- Paid $125 per completed batch (approximately $25–$30/hour equivalent)
- You're responsible for your own taxes
- Work takes place at our kitchen (2202 N 45th St, Seattle)
