POSITION SUMMARY:
Individuals perform a wide variety of boat building tasks related to wood/composite tenders, including, but not limited to, fabricating/ fitting composite components, installation of deck hardware, hatches, and windows.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
Perform a wide variety of boat building tasks related to wood/composite yachts
Fabricating/ fitting composite components, installing deck hardware, hinges, latches, and handrails.
Sets and operates a variety of woodworking machines, including power and hand tools
Must be intensely aware of quality standards
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
3-4 years of experience, or equivalent training and experience
Ability to work with power and hand tools, Drilling screwing, sanding, etc.
Ability to work within close tolerances, - 1-2mm
Ability to work with large power tools such as band saws, planers, table saws
Work with epoxy, resins and glues
Must be able to follow directions and work well within large groups of people
Must be able to meet the requirements of the schedule
Ability to wear a respirator as required
Must wear personal protection equipment
Must have basic hand tools
Works ‘hands on’ on multiple projects
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Work schedule is generally 6:00am-4:30pm four days per week. From time to time, it may be necessary to work additional shifts or on weekends.
This role may involve access to information controlled by U.S. export laws (like International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Export Administration Regulations). That means candidates need to be legally eligible to work with this information, which may include being a U.S. person under U.S. law.
