BOATBUILDER - FULL TIME (EAST BOOTHBAY OR DAMARISCOTTA)

Position Summary

Individuals perform a wide variety of boat building tasks related to wood/composite tenders, including, but not limited to, fabricating and fitting composite components and installing deck hardware, hatches, and windows.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of boat building tasks related to wood/composite yachts

• Fabricate and fit composite components

• Install deck hardware, hinges, latches, and handrails

• Set and operate a variety of woodworking machines, including power and hand tools

• Maintain a strong awareness of Hodgdon quality standards

• Work hands-on on multiple projects

  
  

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience, or equivalent training and experience

• Ability to work with power and hand tools, including drilling, screwing, and sanding

• Ability to work within close tolerances of /- 1–2 mm

• Ability to work with large power tools such as band saws, planers, and table saws

• Ability to work with epoxy, resins, and glues

• Ability to follow directions and work well within groups

• Ability to meet the requirements of the work schedule

• Must have basic hand tools

  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach overhead, and work in various positions throughout the workday

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders

• Ability to work in confined spaces as required

• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds

• Ability to wear a respirator and other required personal protective equipment (PPE)

  
  

Schedule

Generally Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. From time to time, it may be necessary to work additional shifts or weekends.

Pay Range

$24–$28 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
