Teen and Adult Inclusion Coordinator - Interim

The Hockomock Area YMCA is seeking an engaging, compassionate, and organized professional to join our Inclusion team as a Teen & Adult Integration Coordinator. This position plays an important role in creating meaningful, inclusive opportunities for teens and adults with disabilities through the YMCA's Integration Initiative. Working closely with the Senior Director of Inclusion, the Coordinator helps lead Teen and Adult Integration programming, supports participants and families, coordinates and coaches staff, and helps ensure high-quality, person-centered experiences across YMCA programs and activities.

The schedule is primarily afternoons, evenings, and weekends based on program needs.

This position is being hired to meet an immediate staffing need within our Teen and Adult Integration programs. While the current assignment is interim, the YMCA is seeking a candidate interested in growing with the organization. As program and staffing needs evolve, there may be opportunities for continued employment within Inclusion or other YMCA programs. Continued employment beyond the interim assignment is not guaranteed.

Essential Functions

Program Leadership & Coordination

• Serve as a key point of contact for participants, families, staff, and community partners involved in Teen and Adult Integration programs.
• Coordinate and support the delivery of Teen and Adult programs, events, activities, and community-based experiences.
• Assist with participant enrollment, intake, assessment, and individualized support planning in partnership with the Senior Director of Inclusion.
• Coordinate schedules and program coverage for part-time Inclusion Support Staff and co-instructors.
• Help evaluate programs and identify opportunities to strengthen participant experiences, engagement, and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate participant records, program documentation, incident reports, and other required administrative records. 

Participant & Family Support

• Build strong, positive relationships with participants and their families and serve as a responsive resource regarding program participation and support needs.
• Identify and implement accommodations and individualized strategies that promote engagement, independence, social connection, and successful participation.
• Provide direct participant support, intervention, modeling, and consultation as needed to promote inclusion and safety.
• Develop individualized support tools such as visual schedules, social narratives, cue cards, communication supports, and behavior-support strategies.
• Partner with participants and families to understand individual strengths, goals, preferences, and support needs. 

Staff Leadership & Inclusion Support

• Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to Inclusion Support Staff and program team members.
• Help staff develop skills in disability awareness, inclusive practices, accommodations, participant engagement, and positive behavior support.
• Model person-centered, inclusive practices and help create environments where individuals of all abilities can participate meaningfully.
• Collaborate with YMCA program leaders to identify and remove barriers to successful inclusion.
• Monitor program environments and proactively address participant, staff, and program safety concerns.

Organizational Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with the Senior Director of Inclusion and YMCA program leaders to strengthen inclusive programming across the Association.
• Build relationships with community organizations and other partners that support teens and adults with disabilities.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other organizational initiatives as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on program and organizational needs.
