The Aquatics Director will oversee the planning, implementation, and supervision of aquatics programs, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing swim instruction and lifeguard staff, scheduling classes, maintaining pool safety standards, and evaluating the effectiveness of aquatics programs. The Aquatics Director will also develop strategies to strengthen program participation and coordinate with other YMCA departments to align goals and services. This is a full-time, on-site role located in North Attleboro, MA.
- Experience in Swim Instruction, Swim Lessons, and proficiency in Swimming techniques
- Knowledge of Aquatics programming and management
- Lifeguarding skills with current certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to supervise and motivate staff, as well as develop and implement effective programming
- Experience ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field is preferred
- First Aid, CPR, and Water Safety Instructor certifications are a plus
