What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lower School Physical Education Teacher/Assistant Athletic Director position at Hochberg Lower School?
The Lower School Physical Education Teacher/Assistant Athletic Director will teach PE classes for K-5 and supervise practice and game operations, scheduling of sports programs, help coordinate officials and transportation and other duties within the athletic department. This position includes the above responsibilities needed during school and after-school hours.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist with scheduling of athletic contests at the lower school level
- Maintain schools excellent standing with various associations
- Assist in the supervision of coaches/teams/programs within the athletic department.
- Assist with teams getting on buses for away games.
- Assist with supervising all athletic contests.
- Works with Athletic Director to maintain all equipment and uniform inventory for department.
- As needed, attend special events and engage with students and/or parents in an
appropriate, friendly way.
- Attend administrative meetings when necessary.
- Attend league meetings.
- Instructs/teaches lower school physical education courses.
- Participate in ongoing PE curriculum development and attend teacher meetings as necessary.
- Performs other duties as may be deemed necessary by the Athletic Director and/or Principal for the efficient operation of the department.
Qualifications
The Lower School Physical Education Teacher/Assistant Athletic Director must have a bachelor’s degree and a valid FLDOE Teaching/Temporary Certificate in this field. Salary based on experience.
