Hochstetler Resorts is looking for a hard-working and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team! We are a family-owned business that has operated hotels in Estes Park since 1998. We currently own and manage four boutique properties: The Silver Moon Inn, The Appenzell Inn, The Estes Mountain Inn, and Hotel Estes.

Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician responds to engineering and service requests, prioritizes guest concerns, and maintains hotel equipment and facilities in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
Primary Responsibilities
- Respond courteously and efficiently to guest maintenance requests
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, including: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool, laundry, kitchen, and room equipment
- Monitor and maintain all engineering functions when a full team is not present
- Handle emergency situations (e.g., fire alarms, power outages, weather events), notifying appropriate authorities when needed
- Make routine rounds of hotel properties to ensure proper functioning of systems and equipment
- Maintain clean and safe work areas and equipment
- Complete maintenance logs, service tickets, and shift notes to assist the next shift
- Handle elevator or equipment breakdowns when needed
- Maintain accurate records for all preventive maintenance and work order programs
- Report any unsafe conditions to leadership
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Trade school or building maintenance courses preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months experience in a similar maintenance position preferred
Skills:
- Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
- Carpentry and renovation skills are a plus
- Ability to maintain records, work independently, and present professionally around staff and guests
- Ability to operate a pickup truck or snow-removal equipment (as needed)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to hear alarms, machinery, radio communication, and guest requests
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry tools/materials as needed
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing ladders/stairs, and heavy lifting
- High mobility required to respond quickly to service calls and emergencies
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor temperature extremes, snow removal, and weather-related duties
