Toddler Assistant Teacher

HMS is looking for a dependable, flexible, patient, and caring assistant teacher to support our head teaching staff..

Part-Time hours: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Full-Time hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

Duties will include:

In-person classroom assistance, childcare and supervision, as well as care and maintenance of classroom/school facilities.

Establish an environment of mutual respect and classroom management utilizing positive communication techniques.

Encourage and assist students’ positive social interactions.

Ensure safety and well-being of children at all times.

Must be able to: lift up to 40 pounds in connection with the handling of children, assume postures in low levels to allow physical activity with children, and ability to walk, squat, kneel, sit on floor and stand for extended periods of time.

We have a wonderful reputation in the community and are looking for an individual that is flexible, has a good attitude and professional presentation is a must. Qualified candidates will receive in-house training and great experience in the early childhood education field. Opportunity for growth. Parent founded in 2011, Hoboken Montessori School (“HMS”) is a non-sectarian early childhood school designed to nurture a child’s inherent love of learning for children ages 12 months to Kindergarten. Guided by Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy, our program is taught by Head teachers who have been specially trained and certified in Montessori education.

Our mission is to nurture and grow the love of learning within each child. We use Montessori philosophy and methodology, as well as current best practices, to provide an education that gives children the essential learning skills they need to reach their fullest academic, social, and emotional potential.

Pay: $15.92 - $17.00 per hour
