What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Dog Groomer position at Hoboken Dog Walking Company?
We don’t hire often, but we’re currently looking for the right groomer to help us bring grooming back to our client base.
We’re a well-established dog walking company in Hoboken with a loyal, built-in clientele. I’m the owner and operator, and I’ve spent the past 15 years working hands-on in this industry — in dog daycares, grooming salons, and as a dog walker. I understand what these roles actually involve day to day, and I’ve built this business to create a strong experience not just for clients, but for the people working within it.
We’re reintroducing grooming in a more flexible way, starting with a traveling model, with plans to eventually open a dedicated salon as the demand grows.

What we’re looking for
- Experienced dog groomer (professional grooming experience required)
- Comfortable working in a traveling setup
- Strong handling skills across a range of breeds and temperaments
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage your schedule effectively
- Good attitude and professional communication with clients
- Must live in Hoboken or within a short commute
Structure
This role begins as an independent contractor position. As demand grows, there is a clear path toward expanding the grooming division and transitioning into a physical salon.
