Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to provide essential support and care to individuals in an independent living facility. This position is Tues-Sat and is part-time about 20-30 hours a week. The ideal candidate will have experience in home care and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for those with varying needs, including elderly clients, individuals with developmental disabilities, and patients requiring specialized care. This role requires a blend of professional skills and personal empathy to ensure the comfort and well-being of our clients.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing changes in condition.
- Assist with medication management and reminders to ensure adherence to prescribed treatments.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Facilitate social interaction and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document daily activities, observations, and any changes in client behavior or health status accurately.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals as needed for optimal patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care, nursing, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and basic medical procedures is essential.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices and hospice care principles is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with clients and families.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, and understanding in all interactions.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while adhering to safety protocols.
