Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating various types of trucks, including roll-off trucks, bobtail trucks, and flatbeds. This role requires a strong commitment to safety. The Truck Driver will be responsible for delivering empty roll-off bins and picking up full bins and also picking up occasional loads on a standard 43' tandem flat bed.
Responsibilities
- Operate and drive various types of trucks including tractor-trailers, bobtail trucks, and flatbeds.
- Load and unload cargo safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and cargo details.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Utilize manual transmission when required for specific vehicle operations.
- Operate forklifts as needed for loading and unloading tasks.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle being operated. Current DOT medical card. Clean driving record
- Proven experience in truck driving with a strong understanding of road safety regulations.
- Experience operating bobtail trucks, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds is preferred.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) as required during loading and unloading processes.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance procedures is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
