Position Overview:
The Parts Room Clerk compiles records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, dispersing parts and supplies, and equipment by following company policies and practices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compiles data from sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports and writes, types, or enters information into computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, or other records.
- Prepares requisitions, orders, or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items.
- Receives in parts and supplies and places it in the correct locations.
- Compiles stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
- Compares stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.
- Reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
- Participates in regular inventory counts and reconciliations.
- Responsible for housekeeping and safety.
- Provides a high level of professional customer service to internal departments and regularly communicates with vendors & external vendors/ suppliers.
- Maintains ISO standards in the conversion department.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, push, pull, & lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to work in nonclimatecontrolled locations.
- Computer skills, inventory systems a plus.
- High School Education required.
