Job Description


We're looking for a compassionate and dynamic Human Resource Manager to support Hobart Brothers and division initiatives. You'll collaborate with leaders, employees, and stakeholders to drive performance and create a positive work culture. Responsibilities include employee relations, recruitment, training, talent management, compensation, and performance management. You'll support multiple plants and shifts, contributing strategically as you learn the business operations.

The position is located at our Hobart location in Troy, Ohio.

Essential Functions:

Culture:

  • Build a positive, inclusive, and union-free culture.
  • Promote effective communication and conduct training.
  • Advise and coach managers on employee issues.
  • Develop and implement the Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Drive employee involvement and engagement initiatives.

Strategic Alignment:

  • Partner with the HR team on administrative, legal, and strategic tasks.
  • Provide input for business plans and support goals.
  • Collaborate with managers on policy administration and compliance.

Talent Development:

  • Support talent management and acquisition processes.
  • Participate in hiring events and advance diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Enhance onboarding and coordinate talent development programs.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Manage performance and compensation processes.
  • Maintain HRIS records and support FMLA/Leave of Absence tracking.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources required.
  • 3-5 years prior HR Generalist experience. Demonstrated experience in managing a range of employee relations issues preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to objectively coach employees and manager through complex and sometimes emotional issues.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to form strong relationships within the business and with external partners, which will build professional credibility.
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced working environment with a high degree of flexibility.
  • Experience in recruiting and onboarding, including attracting and retaining skilled labor in a manufacturing environment and professional roles.
  • A solid understanding of governmental regulations and employment law, the ability to research, analyze, and interpret various data.
  • Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to prioritize work and manage projects.
  • Willingness and aspiration to learn.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; Experience with HRIS (Workday), VMS (AgileOne), and ATS (SmartRecruiters) systems; is a plus.

Salary : $64,300 - $81,400
