The Cyber Security Systems Engineer III leads the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced Cyber Security controls and architectures. Provides expert guidance and mentorship, ensuring alignment with the regulatory requirements.

The Cyber Security Systems Engineer III leads the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced Cyber Security controls and architectures. Provides expert guidance and mentorship, ensuring alignment with the regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Architects, implements, and administers complex security solutions (SIEM, SOAR, CASB, cloud security, network segmentation, email gateway).
- Leads threat and vulnerability management, including advanced penetration testing and risk assessments.
- Develops and maintains security roadmaps, standards, and best practices.
- Mentors junior engineers and provides subject matter expertise across the organization.
- Assist with incident response, forensic investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborates with IT, business units, and vendors to integrate security into enterprise projects.
- Evaluates emerging technologies and recommends enhancements to the security posture.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, NIST, CIS, etc.).
- Automates security operations using scripting and orchestration tools (Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Chef).
- Continuously researches and applies advanced security methodologies and ethical hacking techniques.
- Leads and conducts security assessments and audits of systems, networks, and applications.
- Manages and monitors security logs and alerts for suspicious activity.
- Evaluates and implements new security technologies and tools.
- Architects secure systems and networks, including segmentation and defense-in-depth.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of security controls and recommends improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years’ experience in Cyber Security Engineering, Systems Administration, or Network Security.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows, Linux, cloud platforms, and virtualization technologies.
- Proven experience with security architecture, automation, and orchestration.
- Strong background in regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Current CA driver’s license required for local travel
- CISSP, GIAC, AWS/Azure Security, OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) or other Offensive Security certifications, or equivalent advanced certification.
