Job Description
The Business Systems Analyst plays a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making across Hoag Clinic’s operational departments, including but not limited to Member Services, Quality, Utilization Management, Claims, Medical Management, Clinical Services, and Eligibility. This role is responsible for designing and delivering insightful analytics solutions such as Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models that empower stakeholders to make informed decisions.
The analyst will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to define, develop, and implement data sourcing strategies, ensure data availability and integrity, and apply analytical techniques to uncover trends and opportunities. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who is comfortable navigating complex datasets and is passionate about transforming data into actionable insights.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI and other tools.
- Partner with business units to understand operational needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Source, clean, and integrate data from multiple systems to support reporting and analysis
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across reporting platforms.
- Collaborate with IT, Strategic Analytics, and internal and external teams to optimize data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Document data definitions, methodologies, and reporting standards.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business or related experience
- 2 years experience in data analysis or business intelligence, preferably in healthcare or managed care.
- Experience working with healthcare data is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Excel, and data visualization best practices
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team
