Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Application Analyst III is responsible for configuring, testing, implementing and supporting the clinical, financial, or administrative and/or other healthcare information systems used for the delivery of patient care and/or other supporting functions of the organization.
Oversees practices and processes to ensure integrity, safety and availability of all data and application, supporting the goals and objectives of the customer as well as business needs of Hoag. Responsible for planning and system development, project management, and application administration.
Must be knowledgeable about the organization’s policies, procedures, and business operations. Evaluates problem tickets and service requests, customer requests for system changes, data retrieval requests, system performance problems and optimization opportunities, and participate in the timely resolution of these activities. Independently resolves the most complex, multi-function application errors and other system issues.
Primary responsibility for the build and maintenance of various system dictionaries, profiles, tables and other configuration points. Identifies system enhancement requests and works with the team to implement as applicable. Independently manages the full lifecycle of medium to large optimizations. Coordinates with the vendor as appropriate. Tests the system, including any configurations, customizations and new releases, prior to production implementation.
Works with end-users to assist with the design and testing of system reports and communicate changes to end users and other staff as applicable. Leads or facilitates system design, validation or remediation sessions. Advanced understanding of how assigned application impacts other systems and works with integration teams to resolve complex data integration issues.
Leads large projects and functions as a subject matter expert on complex, cross-functional projects. Provides guidance to level I and II analysts.
Performs above functions with minimal oversight. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
Key functions include:
- Collaborates with key stakeholders, end users and other members of the business teams to optimize system configuration, function and access.
- Facilitates team discussions and completion of tasks that require multiple resources.
Education and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience with the application, module or equivalent system as assigned.
- Advanced knowledge of the assigned applications in at least one functional area.
- Proficient with Microsoft office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Five (5) or more years’ experience with the application, module or equivalent system as assigned, including experience working in a Health Care Application Services department, preferably within an acute care environment.
- Experience with data query tools such as SQL.
- Payroll Department only
- Experience with Kronos Software applications required
