**What We're Looking For** The Senior Group Director (Location Leader) serves as the senior on-site leader for the Raleigh location, providing visible, day-to-day leadership and representing the office internally and externally. In this role, the individual is responsible for fostering a strong office culture, supporting business growth, and ensuring alignment between local activities and broader office and regional priorities. The position focuses on enabling successful execution across client service, technical delivery, and people leadership by partnering closely with Group Directors, Client Service Teams, and the Office Leader. The Senior Group Director supports pursuit strategy, client engagement, and community presence for the Raleigh office while helping translate office and regional strategies into local action. This role provides leadership presence and operational coordination for the location. The Senior Group Director operates within established office governance, budgets, and strategic direction set by the Office Leader, serving as a trusted advisor and extension of office leadership for local matters. The position also acts as a key connector between the Raleigh office and firmwide resources by collaborating with national teams, with particular emphasis on DOT marker and Advisory Services, and discipline leadership to promote effective staffing, workshare, talent development, and consistency with firm practices. The Senior Group Director reports to the Office Leader and is a member of the Office Leadership Team. **What You’ll Do:** Oversees multiples group’s operating budgets and ensures coordination with the office's budget. Help identify opportunities for enhancing profitable growth through engagement and coaching of group directors. Responsible for the oversight of multiple groups and leads Group Directors to establish priorities and assign staff to projects. Collaborate and lead efforts with other offices and divisions on work-sharing needs and opportunities. Drives the implementation of the firm's strategic plan and HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA) process on project pursuits and markets with the Group Directors and office, including development of strategic planning strategies. Where a Business Development Director is in place, collaborates with that leader to drive profitable growth in our strategic plan and helps determine where the right growth and staffing enhancements are needed to meet those goals. Ensures teams assist in marketing responsibilities, including client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities Drives the implementation of the firm's contracting (SCA) process through project delivery and contracting activities including scope, work plan and fee reviews for all contracting activities impacting the group. Drives the implementation of the firm's project delivery (SDA) process including Work Planning, Monthly Project Reviews and other project performance methods to ensure quality work, on time, on schedule, to the client's satisfaction. Where an Office Director of Operations is in place, collaborates with that leader to drive profitable growth in our strategic plan and helps determine where the right growth and staffing enhancements are needed to meet those goals. Maintains client contacts to ensure client satisfaction. Leads and assists in sales and marketing efforts for growth. Assists in the development and execution of the office strategic plan with the Office Leader. May participate of the Office Leadership Team (OLT). Recruits, hires, develops and retains staff, including supporting Group Directors with the development of plans for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession development. Leads multiple teams and groups including the direct management of at least two Group Directors.
