HNP Landscape Architecture seeks a mid-level landscape architect with 5-10 years’ experience to fill an immediate need in Birmingham, Alabama. This team member’s primary contributions will focus on campus and commercial design projects with additional work within municipal, multi-family residential, single-family residential, and retail sectors.
Responsibilities include participation in all phases of project development:
- Site analysis and master planning
- Schematic and design development
- Landscape, irrigation, and hardscape plans
- Renderings and client presentations
- Construction documentation, detailing, and specifications
- Construction observation and coordination
Desired Qualities
- Motivated and detail-oriented
- Organized - Ability to manage multiple priorities and project deadlines
- Effective Communicator - Interact and collaborate with clients and project team disciplines including architects, civil, electrical, and structural engineers
- Ambassador - Market HNP’s work through client relationships and proposals
- Versatile - Ability to work on all landscape architecture types
Required Qualifications
- Interest and experience in institutional and commercial work
- Minimum 5 years of professional practice
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture
- Proven portfolio of constructed work showing skills throughout the design process from concept to construction
- Skills in detailing and coordination (client/consultant/bidding)
- Experienced knowledge in planting plans, irrigation, grading, and drainage
- Proficiency in CAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Landscape Architect
- /- 10 Years Experience
- LEED experience/certification
Work hours
Full-time with partial remote work hours considered.
Responsibility Breakdown
50% Client and Project Management
40% Concepts, Production Drawings/Details
10% Research (Tech, Products, Code, History)
