Overview
We are seeking a Business Manager to support day-to-day business and financial operations for an active construction program. This onsite role partners closely with field operations, engineering, and corporate finance to ensure accurate forecasting, disciplined project accounting, and strong financial governance across the program.
This position will work on-site in Boulder or Denver, Colorado.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain project-level budgets and forecasts aligned to field schedules and construction milestones
- Support monthly accounting close activities, including accruals, work-in-progress (WIP), variance analysis, and management reporting
- Oversee day-to-day coordination of accounts payable and accounts receivable for assigned workstreams
- Monitor project financial performance and identify cost, cash flow, and profitability drivers
- Validate revenue recognition, customer billing, and payment collection in accordance with contractual terms
- Track material planning and customer order logistics, connecting procurement impacts to schedule and cash flow
- Partner cross-functionally with construction crews, field managers, engineering, and finance teams to ensure operational and financial alignment
- Assist with contract, subcontract, and change order administration and maintain clean project accounting records
- Prepare ad hoc analysis on unit costs, productivity, and spend to support field decision-making
- Support risk identification, dispute visibility, and insurance claim documentation as needed
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 1–3 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, or construction/business operations
- Hands-on exposure to project accounting, AP, and AR with high-dollar transactions
- Strong Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups
- Ability to read and understand contractual business and financial requirements
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with field teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction accounting or project-based environments
- Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., D365 or similar)
- Experience supporting large-scale or multi-state programs
- Power BI or similar reporting tools experience

- On-site role - can be based in Boulder or Denver, CO
Compensation and Benefits
- Target annual salary range: $95,000 – $115,000
- Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications
