Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Biller/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate medical insurance claims using billing software and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Review and code medical procedures and diagnoses utilizing CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards to ensure proper reimbursement.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection practices and healthcare claims management.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information and collecting payments.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records in compliance with privacy regulations and practice policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding billing, insurance coverage, and appointment scheduling.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of services rendered for billing purposes.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools to generate reports, update records, and communicate effectively within the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office with a focus on medical billing and reception duties.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance policies, and healthcare claims management processes.
- Proficiency in billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and ICD coding practices.
- Ability to perform accurate medical coding for various procedures and diagnoses to optimize reimbursement.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and billing documentation.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
- Knowledge of medical collection procedures to follow up on outstanding accounts effectively.
