Position Summary
Planning & Procurement Manager Supply Site York (SSY) will be responsible for the planning function at SSY. The planning manager shall oversee the complete supply chain from supplier to end customer. The planning manager plays a key role in building a transparent planning function that balances customer demand and production capacity to ensure an efficient and reliable supply chain. This role reports to the VP of Operations and is a member of the SSY Management Team.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for establishing and developing planning processes that meet relevant SSY KPI targets regarding QCDS (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability).
- Overall responsibility for operational purchasing connected to SSY.
- Overall responsibility for production planning at SSY.
- Overall responsibility for refilling the finished goods warehouse with products produced at SSY.
- Work closely with Global Sourcing to optimize component supply in terms of availability, cost, and inventory value.
- Actively drive continuous improvements within the planning and procurement function with focus on QCDS.
- Maintain instructions and documents related to the planning and procurement function according to current standards.
- Serve as super user and key person for ERP systems and processes connected to SSY.
- Review and provide feedback on forecasts to ensure accurate forecasting of products and components.
- Update lead times to customers and maintain methods for setting and communicating lead times for SSY.
- Follow up on KPIs connected to the planning function and implement actions to reach targets.
- Contribute to developing and driving the SSY vision with focus on efficiency improvements through automation and digitalization.
Inspiring Leadership to include:
- Work with HR to hire new employees and manage disciplinary issues.
- Ensure training plans are available for new and existing employees.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
- Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and ensure compliance with laws and regulations, including workplace requirements.
- Create and follow the budget for costs connected to the planning function.
Authorities
- Authority to hire staff and define salaries (with HR) within the approved budget.
- Authority to make decisions on competence development.
- Authority to sign purchasing agreements for production material according to company policies.
- Authority to approve expenses and make investments up to limits defined in internal regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management of Logistics, or equivalent planning / procurement experience.
- 3 years’ experience with planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate oral and written communication skill to efficiently interface with supervisor and co-workers.
- Must have superior communication skills both written and orally.
- Must have advanced skills in Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPIM, CPM or CSCP
- Advanced knowledge of purchasing and material planning procedures and practices (MRP, DBM, stockroom practices, Etc.)
- Prior experience in an electronics assembly environment
- Prefer experience with LLC sourcing
