Position Summary
The HR Generalist will support our dynamic production facility in York, Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment and can provide immediate support in key HR functions during a period of transition or increased need. The HR Generalist will serve as a key HR resource for plant leadership, supervisors, and employees to ensure smooth daily operations and alignment with company policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions

- Provide day-to-day HR support including employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and compliance; address employee concerns, conduct preliminary workplace investigations, and coach leaders on performance, corrective action, feedback, and communication best practices
- Conduct and document workplace investigations involving employee relations concerns, policy violations, harassment, discrimination, and misconduct allegations
- Support hourly recruiting efforts, including coordinating offers, new hire orientation and onboarding in partnership with Talent Acquisition
- Serve as the primary HR contact for temporary workforce administration, including onboarding, attendance concerns, performance feedback, and conversion activities
- Partner with production leaders to assess staffing gaps and workforce planning needs
- Monitor attendance trends and partner with leaders to address absenteeism and tardiness concerns through coaching, corrective action, and employee support programs
- Support compliance with wage and hour regulations, including timekeeping practices, overtime administration, and payroll-related inquiries
- Champion engagement efforts to drive a positive company culture, including but not limited to leading the Peer Coach Committee and Safety Committee
- Support employee recognition and appreciation programs that reinforce company values and promote workforce engagement
- Track turnover trends, conduct exit interviews, and partner on retention strategies
- Partner with EHS to support workplace safety initiatives, safety orientation, compliance training, training documentation, injury/incident reporting, and investigations
- Support organizational change initiatives, workforce transitions, and communication efforts to drive employee understanding and engagement
- Administer leave of absence programs (FMLA, STD, etc.)
- HRIS data entry, reporting, and personnel file maintenance
- Prepare HR metrics for leadership such as turnover, absenteeism, headcount, and workforce trends
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Conduct periodic audits of personnel files, HR processes, and employment records to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Collaborate with HR team and local plant leadership to ensure consistency in company procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- 3 years experience in Human Resources as a Human Resources Generalist or Manager supporting a manufacturing or production workforce
- A combination of education and relevant HR experience will be considered; a bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field is a plus, but not required
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO)
- Experience managing employee relations and supporting hourly workforce
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manager multiple tasks and adapt quicky in a dynamic environment
