About HMP Global
HMP Global is a leading healthcare event and content company producing world-class events, digital media brands, and education for healthcare professionals. With one of the largest networks of healthcare providers (HCPs) in the U.S., we deliver critical medical education and insights that influence clinical decision-making and industry innovation.
The Opportunity
HMP Global is seeking a strategic, hands-on Manager of Public Relations to lead external communications and day-to-day PR operations across the organization. This is a high-visibility role with broad ownership: amplifying our portfolio of industry-leading events, protecting and elevating our brand, serving as our primary point of contact for the press, and helping shape how HMP Global shows up to its employees, partners, and the wider healthcare community.
This role partners closely with HMP Global's executive communications advisor, who leads executive communications strategy, crisis counsel, and high-stakes corporate moments. The PR leader will execute against that strategy and own the day-to-day PR function, giving the right candidate strategic air cover and a senior thought partner, while still owning meaningful scope and visibility.
You will manage the PR planning and execution end-to-end, from pre-event media outreach and on-site press operations, to corporate announcements and press response. You will manage relationships with key reporters and editors, drive proactive media pitching for select stories, and ensure every external touchpoint reflects the strength of our brand. You will also support internal communications and corporate social media and help execute communications around M&A and other strategic initiatives as needed.
This role sits at the front edge of how AI is reshaping the communications function. We are looking for a leader who is genuinely fluent in AI tools and workflows, someone who has already integrated generative AI, AI-powered media monitoring, and AI-driven analytics into their day-to-day practice, and who can bring that fluency to bear across our PR operation. You will guide how AI is used responsibly and effectively in our communications work, raise the productivity and impact of every workstream you touch, and help establish HMP Global as a sophisticated, modern comms organization.

- Ability to commute to our East Windsor, NJ office Tuesday through Thursday.
Capabilities

- Exceptional communicator, capable of partnering with executive stakeholders and external media partners.
- Genuine AI fluency, comfortable designing prompts, building workflows, and critically evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, tone, and brand fit.
- Editorial judgment to know when AI accelerates the work and when human voice, relationships, or discretion must lead.
- Calm and decisive under pressure, comfortable making fast judgment calls in live-event environments and during high-volume press moments.
- Strong news instincts and a sharp sense for what makes a story land.
- Highly organized; able to juggle multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders without losing the thread.
- Collaborative and coachable, comfortable partnering with a senior advisor on strategy while owning the operational engine.
