What are the responsibilities and job description for the Courier position at HMG?
Main Responsibilities:
- Collects containers in various forms (size/weight) and delivers to designated HMG locations
- Maintain, deliver and handle bank bags with cash and check deposits responsibly and deliver to ADMIN on schedule for daily bank deposits
- Ensure that all packages are properly secured/locked at all times in the vehicle
- Secure containers inside company vehicle by using straps, tie downs and/or rope to reduce shifting and damage in route to HMG locations
- Complete all necessary paperwork for supply deliveries
- Clean inside of the company vehicle and perform routine pre-trip inspections
- Pick up mail at each satellite office and bring to mail room to be sorted, posted and mailed
- Assist with sorting and posting of mail as needed
- Ensure customer satisfaction and relay any concerns to management
- Assist in maintaining the mailroom and keep in an orderly and clean manner
- Assist Materials Management with special projects as needed
- Be a back up to receiving clerk as needed for delivery of mail and packages within central HMG location
- Exhibit professional, well groomed, neat appearance that is reflective of Holston Medical Group at all times
Education/Experience/Knowledge/Requirements:
- A high school education or equivalent is required
- Attention to detail
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid drivers license in the state he/she resides
- No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years (in any type of vehicle)
- No at fault accidents within the last 3 years (in any type of vehicle)
- No convictions of any of the following offences’ (in any type of vehicle) in the past 7 years:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance
- Leaving the scene of an accident involving a commercial motor vehicle
- No more than one excessive speeding (15 mph or more above the posted speed limit)
- Reckless driving
- Vehicular manslaughter or vehicular homicide
- Eluding a police officer
- Operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license
- No felony convictions of confinement or conviction of a criminal offence

Marginal: Regularly operates a motor vehicle to go from each office location. Medium work that includes exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and /or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
