Role Description The Field Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Albuquerque, NM. This role is responsible for delivering, installing, and setting up durable medical equipment in patient homes and healthcare facilities, ensuring equipment is functioning safely and correctly. The technician provides clear instructions to patients and caregivers on proper use, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of equipment, while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor. Daily tasks include performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs, documenting all services provided, and adhering to safety, regulatory, and company standards. The role also involves coordinating schedules, managing service tickets, maintaining vehicle and inventory readiness, and collaborating with clinical and customer service teams to support timely discharges and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Technical and mechanical aptitude, including the ability to learn installation, maintenance, and repair of medical or similar equipment.
- Customer service and communication skills to interact effectively and respectfully with patients, caregivers, healthcare staff, and team members.
- Organizational and time-management abilities for handling multiple service calls, documenting work accurately, and following established procedures.
- Basic computer and mobile device skills for using service software, updating records, and accessing work orders and routing information.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to safely operate company vehicles for deliveries and service visits.
- Capability to lift, move, and transport equipment in accordance with safety guidelines, including standing, bending, and working in varied home and facility environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in field service, medical equipment, home health, or related technical roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn relevant safety, infection control, and regulatory practices related to durable medical equipment and patient care settings.
