Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Masking Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying masking materials to various components, ensuring precision and quality in preparation for painting or coating processes. This role requires familiarity with the use of hand and power tools, supporting efficient production workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare parts for powder coating by applying various masking materials (tape, plugs, caps, custom masks, silicone pieces, etc.).
- Report defects, inconsistencies, or missing information to supervisors.
- Read and interpret masking diagrams, work orders, and customer specifications to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect parts before and after masking to verify cleanliness, placement, and completeness.
- Use knives, scissors, templates, and precision tools to cut masking materials to exact sizes.
- Plug threaded holes, cover surfaces, and protect critical areas that cannot receive powder.
- Ensure tight, clean lines to prevent coating bleed or overspray.
- Work closely with powder coaters and production staff to ensure parts flow smoothly through the finishing process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including masking supplies and tools.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including PPE use and safe handling of chemicals and materials.

- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The temperature in the work environment is not regulated.
Physical Demands
Ability to move or transfer products up to 50lbs when required. While performing the duty of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, squat, move in and out of racks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Hours
Mon-Thursday 6am to 430om.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
