We focus primarily on opportunities to have the most direct contribution to communities–through healthcare, education, and civic spaces.Job SummaryWe are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Associate Healthcare Planner to join our team. In this role, you will manage all phases of the planning process for small-scale healthcare projects, working closely with a Senior Healthcare Planner. You will help solve architectural programming and planning challenges, develop space programs, and create functional narratives. The ideal candidate has strong client-facing skills and can effectively direct and monitor planning activities.The position is based in either the Los Angeles, San Diego, or San Jose HMC office. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with flexible hours, requiring three days in the office and the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.Responsibilities Review project documents to ensure quality, coordination, and compliance with deliverable requirements across all phasesCollaborate with project team and clients to review and approve changesEnsure design intent is maintained through all project phases in collaboration with the design teamIntegrate design principles with project goals and maintain design integrity throughoutDraft meeting minutes and professional correspondenceSupport senior healthcare planner in supervising and delegating workWork with staff to achieve project objectives and resolve planning issues alongside the project manager during construction document preparationPromote design quality and foster collaborative design processesPerform departmental planning, including blocking and stacking of spaces, to optimize functionality and workflowAssist with programming, planning, and feasibility analysis in coordination with the project design teamInterpret applicable building codes and ensure compliance in all planning and design activitiesDocument planning and design work in RevitParticipate in office planning/design charrettesEstimate and manage hours for assigned tasks, ensuring completion within budgeted timeCollaborate effectively with design and production staffDevelop plans of action with supervisors to resolve project-related issuesAttend professional activities outside the office to support professional development and networkingParticipate in project marketing interviews and assist in preparing interview materialsCoordinate with team members and consultants to identify and resolve conflicts and discrepanciesPerform other duties as assignedMinimum RequirementsArchitectural degree from an accredited university preferred or equivalent demonstrated proficiencyMinimum of five (5) years of architectural experience, including at least two (2) years in healthcare planningProficiency in departmental planning, blocking and stacking, and code interpretationWorking knowledge of applicable building codesUnderstanding of healthcare construction costs, systems, and logistics; ability to assist the project manager with value analysisAwareness of LEED principles and their application in programmingSelf-motivated with the ability to take on new responsibilities and challengesStrong time-management skills; able to set goals, prioritize tasks, and manage workload efficientlyProficiency with graphic tools and software to effectively present concepts and programsAbility to organize and deliver design presentations under the supervision of a Senior Healthcare PlannerSkilled in delegating tasks respectfully and appropriatelyDemonstrates sound judgment; makes timely, informed decisions while including the appropriate team members in the decision-making processStrong active listening and professional communication skillsAbility to keep design teams and clients updated on project statusExcellent interpersonal skills; able to build productive and cooperative relationshipsProactive in seeking clarification on assignments when unclearThe salary range for this position is $75,435 - $109,543The actual salary offered for this position will vary depending on multiple factors including the candidate’s qualification, education, position knowledge, work experience, skills, ability, work location, and internal incumbent compensation for similar roles. We do not anticipate individuals hired into this position will start at or near the top half of the range listed; the decision will be based on each individual case. The salary range listed above does not include other compensation elements such as discretionary bonus opportunities, employee stock ownership grants, paid time off, medical insurance, and other wage and benefit opportunities.

Salary : $75,435 - $109,543
